The perfect adapter for anyone with a 5th wheel. Adapter fits 2-5/16" hitch balls and features a 3" vertical adjustment and the only adapter on the market with a remote latch release! The remote latch release allows you to engage and release the coupler while standing on the ground outside your pickup, no more climbing into the bed. The ranch hitch adapter offers the greatest amount of strength and versatility offered by any other hitch system. 24,000 lb trailer GVW and 6000 lb. tongue weight. Kit includes all hardware for attachments to 5th wheel trailers. With easy installation one person can install this adapter. This adapter won't damage the exisiting kingpin, so if you were to sell your 5th Wheel you can take this adapter with you.

The installation is simple and takes roughly an hour to complete. If you want to know how to measure the adapter to see if it will fit your 5th wheel, do the following: Back your truck into position to hook up your 5th wheel. Measure from the "pin plate" (on the pin box) down to the top of the ball (goose-neck hitch)in the bed of your truck. When the adapter is fully compressed it will measures 11 3/4". It has 3" of adjustment, so when its is fully extended that measurement will be 14 3/4". You should have 5" or 6" of clearance between the over-hang and the sideboards of your truck, keeping in mind your 5th wheel needs to be level for traveling.

A special note: Due to the fact that short bed pickup trucks are increasing in popularity, manufactures have designed a super extended or lengthened pin box that increases the distance between the truck and the 5" wheel trailer. This creates conditions for a driver to enjoy a tighter turning radius while towing his or her trailer. As the distance between the truck and the trailer widens, it minimizes the chances for the cab of the truck to hit the overhang of the trailer while in a sharp turn.

These specially designed pin boxes are know fairly well in the industry as super extended pin boxes. They have a total overall length of 30" (measuring from the back of the box, to the front edge of the pin box) and beyond. Because of the added leverage to the frame of the trailer (inherent in the extra length of the pin box) we recommend that this adapter NOT be used. It may create too much leverage on the frame of the trailer.
